Summer Internship Program in Germany – via Cultural Vistas

The Cultural Vistas Summer Internship Program in Germany provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable international work skills, improve German language abilities, and experience German life and culture firsthand.

Internship placements are available in a variety of fields, including but not limited to, business, engineering, finance, tourism, IT, media/communications, international relations, the nonprofit sector, German studies, and economics.  Internship duration is typically two to three months, with most students completing a three month internship.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

  • be students, international and US, enrolled in US colleges and universities, and Canadian citizens enrolled in US or Canadian colleges and universities
  • have at least two years of university level studies in the field of their major
  • have two years of post-secondary instruction in German or the equivalent (extra language training is available, if needed)

Many internships are paid and scholarships are available to qualified participants who receive unpaid internships.  Participants will receive a scholarship application following acceptance to the program.  A limited number of language course stipends are also available for those who qualify.

Internship Program in Argentina – via Cultural Vistas

The Cultural Vistas Internship Program in Argentina provides US and Canadian students and young professionals with internship placements in either Buenos Aires or Córdoba.

Internships are available in a variety of fields, including but not limited to, business/finance, tourism, IT, media/communications, international relations, the nonprofit sector, Spanish studies, and economics.

Cultural Vistas offers two different 12-week programs in Argentina: a four-week Spanish language course and an eight-week internship (language/internship option) or a 12-week internship (internship option).

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

  • have US or Canadian citizenship
  • be 18-30 years of age
  • have two years of post-secondary instruction in Spanish or the equivalent (language/internship option)
  • have two years of post-secondary instruction in Spanish or the equivalent AND high-intermediate level of Spanish sufficient to function in a Spanish-speaking work environment immediately upon arrival in Argentina (internship option)
  • have a minimum of two years of university-level studies

Alfa Fellowship Program – via Cultural Vistas

The Alfa Fellowship Prorgam is a distinguished professional development program placing accomplished young professionals in work assignments at leading organizations in the fields of business, economics, journalism, law, public policy and related areas in Russia.

The program accepts up to 18 American, British and German citizens per year.  The program includes intensive Russian language training, seminar series, and extended professional experience.  Fellows receive a monthly stipend, language training, coverage of all program-related travel costs, housing and insurance.

The Alfa Fellowship Program aims to expand networks of American, British, German, and Russian professionals, develop greater intercultural understanding, and advance knowledge of Russia in the West.

Eligibility Requirements

  • US, UK or German citizen
  • 25-35 years old at the application deadline
  • Russian proficiency is preferred; qualified candidates with fluency in another second language may be considered
  • Graduate degree or equivalent training in business, economics, journalism, law, public policy, or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant work experience; candidates without a graduate degree must demonstrate extensive and equivalent professional experience in their field, approximately six years, in order to qualify

The University of Pittsburgh College of Business Administration (CBA) has established the International Internship Program (IIP) where students participate in a full-time summer internship in Paris, France.  Internships are open to students from all Pitt campuses and departments.

Pitt’s partner in Paris, EUSA, works with students after acceptance to the program to find a suitable internship.  All internships are in French.

  • be enrolled in their sophomore or junior year at the University of Pittsburgh
